Felipe Drugovich begins his Andretti Formula E campaign in 2025/26, debuting at the São Paulo E-Prix. The move ends a three-year, 16-day absence from single-seaters.

The Brazilian signs a multi-year deal, shifting from Aston Martin reserve duties to a full-time seat. He swaps sporadic FP1 mileage for weekly racing responsibility.

Drugovich won Formula 2 in 2022 and logged seven Formula 1 FP1 outings, the last in August 2025 at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

This switch reboots his trajectory, providing stable seat time, structured development, and clear metrics for progress within a manufacturer-influenced championship.

He says the reset improves his mindset and focus. A defined objective replaces uncertainty, with a long-range aim of contending for the Formula E title.

“It feels right to have a clear goal and direction,” Drugovich says of committing to Formula E.

Commitment built over time. From 2023, he participated in rookie running, simulated programs, and discussions with Andretti to understand the category’s requirements and operating model.

A 2025 Berlin double-header cameo produced points and valuable race craft exposure. That performance strengthened conviction that the package and environment suit his skillset.

He also evaluated alternatives. Two Le Mans starts with Cadillac Whelen, European Le Mans Series mileage in 2024, and an October 2024 IndyCar test with Ganassi broadened experience.

Those programs refined adaptability and technical feedback. They did not replace the pull of single-seaters or the appeal of a defined development ladder.

Berlin 2025 points convinced Drugovich to commit fully to Andretti’s Formula E project.

Formula E imposes distinct demands. Energy management, pack dynamics, and software-driven strategy require intense concentration and constant recalibration across lifting points, attack mode timing, and thermal control.

Early targets remain conservative. The priority is to learn every session, tighten execution with engineers, and convert race-by-race understanding into sustainable performance.

Main priority: learn fast, execute cleanly, and build a results baseline before setting firm targets.

He describes feeling at peace with a full program and a team depending on him. São Paulo offers a fitting launch point and a high-pressure benchmark for progress.

Success hinges on integrating quickly with Andretti’s systems, maximizing preparation tools, and exploiting the current hardware–software window as rivals compress margins.
