Porsche has confirmed Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Müller for the upcoming Formula E season, with pre-season testing in Valencia October and the season opener on December 6 in São Paulo.
Müller replaces Antonio Felix da Costa, who departs to Jaguar. The Swiss driver joined Porsche as a factory signing in August 2024 after racing the Andretti customer entry.
Porsche targets the teams’ and drivers’ championships, seeking to translate consistent race pace into silverware. The lineup underlines a push for sustained title contention rather than short-term fixes.

Müller’s Andretti campaign proved difficult, but an early factory test with Porsche signposted this move. Porsche values his adaptability and knowledge of the 99X Electric package.
Wehrlein remains the program’s reference. He brings qualifying efficiency and mature energy management, key under Formula E’s strategic constraints and limited in-season development opportunities.
Vice President Thomas Laudenbach expresses confidence in the pairing. He highlights Müller’s familiarity with Porsche hardware from Andretti and expects a rapid integration through Valencia running.
The competitive bar remains high. Nissan’s Oliver Rowland arrives as reigning champion, while Jaguar and other manufacturer programs continue to refine software, systems, and operational execution.

Under stable homologation rules, gains skew toward software, setup, and racecraft. Customer-team data sharing also matters, given Andretti’s continued use of Porsche powertrains.
Porsche’s internal target is clear. Reach London’s finale with both championships still alive, supported by clean execution on strategy, qualifying positioning, and energy targets.
Müller frames last season as education. He aims to contribute immediately, complementing Wehrlein’s consistency to create a balanced attack across street circuits and higher-speed venues.
The next performance clues arrive in Valencia at month’s end. Any step in race-trim efficiency will define whether Porsche converts potential into sustained title pressure.
